  1. Extremely eye-opening and relevant as on tonight’s news there was a segment on the government wanting cell phone carriers to keep track and monitor all text messages, and retain them for up to two years, for the purposes of seeking out criminals, seeing if people are ‘plotting to commit a murder’, etc. And given even the most inexperienced hacker can often access sensitive information, or as with the hackers that took control of the space station for a few hours last year, this truly is a scary possibility in a free society that even with today’s technology, expects and deserves to receive privacy in their every-day lives.
